Why NanoCRM Exists
Small nonprofits do extraordinary work with extraordinary constraints. Limited staff, limited budgets, and limited time — yet the need to track donors, manage relationships, and report results is just as real as it is for large organizations.
The tools that exist to help are often built for someone else. Too complex. Too expensive. Too much to learn. NanoCRM was built to fix that.
About George
I’m a retired CPA with decades of experience in financial services compliance, risk management, and internal controls. Through my work at Greystone GRC LLC, I kept seeing the same problem: organizations doing genuinely important work were being forced to use donor management tools built for entities ten times their size. The learning curve was steep, the cost was real, and the results were frustrating.
NanoCRM exists because small nonprofits deserve tools that fit their reality. Throughout my career, I have prioritized a reliable, trusted deliverable over increased margins. This functional discipline serves as the foundation for our toolsets.
Developed as a brand of Greystone GRC LLC, NanoCRM integrates the same principles of governance, risk management, and financial integrity we provide to our consulting clients directly into a right-sized stewardship solution.
How We Think About This
NanoCRM is built around a simple set of principles:
- Start free and stay useful — the free version is genuinely capable, not crippled
- Your data belongs to you — it lives in your Google account, not ours
- No nickel and diming — when paid options come, they’ll be fairly priced and clearly explained
- Built to last — even if NanoCRM closes, your free version keeps working
- You shape what gets built — feature requests from real users drive development
- Backed by Disciplined Standards — Developed by Greystone GRC LLC to bring corporate-grade financial integrity to emerging missions.
Where We're Headed
NanoCRM launched as a free Google Sheets add-on for very small nonprofits — organizations managing up to 250 donors who need a simple, reliable starting point.
The roadmap from here:
- Phase 1 (Now) — Free Google Sheets add-on, up to 250 donors, upload and clean up to 500 contacts
- Phase 2 (Coming) — Affordable paid tier for larger databases and expanded functionality
- Phase 3 (Future) — Full cloud-based donor management and CRM platform for growing organizations
Each phase builds on the same foundation — simple, reliable, fairly priced, and built around what you actually need.
Let's Build This Together
NanoCRM is early stage and your input matters more right now than at any other point. If you have a feature request, a question, or just want to say hello — I’d genuinely like to hear from you.
